How it started

One basket,
one idea

Most safety companies begin with a warehouse. Paragon began with a gift basket — and the instinct that protection is something worth handing to people directly.

2022 — The beginning

A safety kit in a gift basket

An event required gift baskets. Mohamed Hamood Al Harthy placed a safety kit inside one. It was a small commercial opportunity at the time, but the thinking behind it held: safety is not an overhead a business absorbs quietly — it is something you give the people who work for you.

First growth

Safety footwear

Safety shoes followed, and with them the first repeat customers. It became clear that sites don’t buy protection once. They buy it continuously, replace it constantly, and need a supplier who understands sizing, wear and turnover rather than one who simply fulfils an order.

Expansion

Fire extinguishers and PPE

The move into fire equipment and the wider PPE range raised the stakes. This is equipment with legal weight behind it — specified against real hazards, inspected by authorities, and relied upon in the moments that matter most. Supplying it correctly demanded technical knowledge, not just stock.

Taking responsibility

Servicing and maintenance

Servicing changed the nature of the business. Selling an extinguisher ends at delivery; servicing it means holding ongoing responsibility for whether it works. Refilling, recharging, pressure testing and maintaining records that withstand inspection — this is where Paragon became a safety company rather than a supplier.

Consultancy

ISO certification at a higher level

Clients kept asking a harder question: not just whether the equipment was compliant, but whether the management system behind it was. Paragon moved into consultancy for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22000 — from protecting the site to certifying the system that governs it.

Today

The full range, under one supplier

Paragon now supplies the complete PPE range from head to foot, supplies and services fire equipment, and delivers ISO certification consultancy. Equipment, maintenance and certification sit under a single line of accountability — which is precisely the gap the company was built to close.

Paragon Business Solutions was established in 2022 to address a straightforward requirement: Omani organisations need a supplier who can both equip a site properly and certify the management system that governs it. Too often those responsibilities sit with separate providers, and the gap between them is where compliance fails.

The company began modestly, supplying safety kits and protective footwear. As our clients’ requirements matured, so did our scope — first fire extinguishers and personal protective equipment, then the servicing, recharging and pressure testing of that equipment, and subsequently consultancy for ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 22000. Today we deliver the full range: equipment supply, scheduled servicing, and certification support under a single line of accountability.

That progression was deliberate. Equipment alone does not produce a safe workplace. It produces a safe workplace when it is correctly specified, maintained on schedule, documented to a standard that withstands audit, and supported by a management system the workforce actually operates. Our business is built to deliver all four.

Paragon is fully Omani-owned. Oman Vision 2040, set out by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, requires a diversified economy led by a competitive private sector and a capable national SME base. We regard our contribution as measurable rather than aspirational: the sites we help bring into compliance, the certifications our clients achieve and retain, and the national capability we develop in the process.

We hold ourselves to the standards we advise others to meet. I would expect nothing less from a supplier, and our clients are entitled to expect it from us.
